Featured Event: Join us Friday, April 10, as historian Steven R. Stotelmyer discusses "From Frederick to Sharpsburg: The Maryland Campaign Before Antietam." Drawing on his book of the same name, Stotelmyer — an NPS Certified Antietam and South Mountain tour guide — sheds light on the participants and events long overshadowed by Antietam, and sets the stage for our May 2 South Mountain field trip. Dinner at 6:30 pm, presentation at 7:15 pm. Virtual attendance available via Zoom (please join by 7:00 pm).
President's Message: With three world-class historians closing out Campaign 67 (April 10, May 15, June 5), Mo Becker urges members to mark their calendars and renews the call for Treasurer and Secretary volunteers as his term concludes in June — reminding us that "our Round Table" only has meaning if each of us takes responsibility for its future.
Spring Field Trip Update: Our May 2, 2026 Battle of South Mountain trip remains sold out. Registered attendees: the $70 balance due deadline is April 2. To join the waiting list, contact Steve Williamson.
Upcoming Programs: Preview the final engagements of Campaign 67 — A. Wilson Greene's Nye-Sommers Lecture on the First Petersburg Offensive (May 15) and Carolyn Ivanoff on Cornelia Hancock's Civil War at our Annual Business Meeting (June 5).
Plus: A remembrance of longtime member Lawrence E. Keener-Farley (1948–2026), co-author of Civil War Harrisburg and founder of the Victorian Dance Ensemble; a roundup of regional events, including the Civil War Preservation Ball at the PA Capitol Rotunda, Dr. Michael Vorenberg's J. Howard Wert Lecture at Dickinson College, and the unveiling of a new wayside marker at Col. Henry Zinn's grave; and membership information.
