Read the latest from the Harrisburg Civil War Round Table in our August summer edition. Inside you'll find:

Featured — Campaign 68 Kickoff: Our new season opens Friday, September 11, with prolific author, cartographer, and tour guide Dr. Bradley M. Gottfried on his latest book, Grant & Meade: An Uneasy Alliance. He's followed by Dickinson College professor Dr. Matthew Pinsker on Boss Lincoln: The Partisan Life of Abraham Lincoln (Oct. 9), and our Veterans Day engagement with Gettysburg NMP Ranger Christopher Gwinn on Twilight of the Blue & Grey: The 1938 Reunion at Gettysburg (Nov. 13).

President's Message: In her first message as President, Rev. Rebecca S. Myers welcomes members to Campaign 68 — reflecting on the fellowship of gathering around the table and, in this 250th year of the Declaration of Independence, on why the study of the Civil War and its "unfinished work" still matters today.

A Thank You to Mo Becker: The Round Table honors outgoing President Mo Becker for his herculean stewardship across Campaigns 66 and 67 — keeping the organization strong and adding new luster to the saga of the 130th PA.

Save the Date — Campaign 68: Mark your calendars for the full slate, from the September 11 kickoff through the Holiday Party (Dec. 4), Black History Month (Feb. 19), the Nye-Sommers Lecture (May 14), and the Annual Business Meeting (June 4, 2027).

Plus: A recap of the newly unveiled Col. Henry I. Zinn GAR Post 415 wayside in Mechanicsburg — where the mayor proclaimed July 25 "James E. Schmick Day"; a roundup of regional events, including the HCWRT's recruiting table at the Carlisle Barracks Welcome Expo; and membership information.
