About the event

The U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center in Carlisle hosts its annual General of the Army Omar N. Bradley Lecture, the biggest event of the year at USAHEC.

Dr. Edda Fields-Black of Carnegie Mellon University speaks on "Combee: Harriet Tubman and the Combahee River Raid," the subject of her award-winning book of the same title — winner of the 2024 Gilder Lehrman Lincoln Prize and the 2025 Pulitzer Prize for History, among many other honors.

Don't miss this opportunity to hear from one of the nation's most-acclaimed Civil War historians on a topic that should resonate with us all.

Doors open at 6:00 pm. The lecture begins at 6:30 pm.

The Harrisburg Civil War Round Table will be recruiting in the hallway outside the lecture hall — an opportunity to tell our story to those who share our passion for Civil War history. Anyone wishing to help with this recruiting…
