Pursuant to the current Constition and By-Laws of the Harrisburg Civil War Round Table
(HCWRT), This notice is to inform the membership of proposed changes to the HCWRT
Constitution and By-Laws. The vote to accept the proposed changes will take place on June 11,
2010 at the annual general membership meeting. The annual meeting will commence at 7:45 pm at the Radisson Penn Harris,1150 Camp Hill Bypass, Camp Hill PA 17011. All members are encouraged to attend and participate in this meeting.

 

The proposed changes to the Constitution and By-Laws have been developed by a committee chartered by President Alice Lucas and led by Committee Chair Steve Williamson. The scope of changes includes:
           
·         Organizing the documents into a user friendly format and adding a
                     “Table of Contents” to facilitate ease of reference.
           
·         Simplifying wording into common vernacular.
           
·         Defining the scope and responsibilities of officers, the board and
                     committees.
           
·         Revising and updating standing committees to reflect current
                     needs and facilitate anticipated growth.
           
·         Establishing a confidentiality policy to protect member information.
           
·         Revising new membership terms from seasonal to annual
                     memberships, reflecting computerized accounting procedures
                     now in use.
           
·         Provide threads of consistency throughout the semantics of the
                     constitution and by-laws.

Copies of the proposed Constitution and By-laws are available for review by the
membership thru the following venues:
           
·         A minimum of six printed copies will be available for general
                     member review at the April, May and June membership meetings.
           
·        A copy will be posted for review on the HCWRT website thru
                    April, May and June.
           
·        A .pdf copy will be emailed upon request emailed to:

·        A hard copy will be mailed via US Postal Service upon written
